A child’s day should be easy and fun. When a child is ill, their day can become stressful. Children need to feel well enough to actively participate in the daily routine, both indoors and outdoors. Children who are ill require one on one care, attention and rest that cannot be adequately provided by the staff in the room. Bringing a sick child to daycare exposes the other children and adults to the illness and can possibly cause a relapse of symptoms if the child returns to the center before they are fully recovered. If your child becomes ill throughout the day, they will be made as comfortable as possible and you will be contacted to come pick them up. We expect prompt pick up of children who are ill.
A doctor’s note may be required in order for your child to return to the center. A child must be vomit, diarrhea and fever free, without medication for 24 hours before being allowed back into the center.
