ROLE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The most important benefit of volunteering on the Board of Directors is it allows

you to make a real difference helping families within your community

  • The Board of Directors members are made up of at least seven members whose children are attending the centre
  • Board members must put the good of the organization ahead of personal wishes and/or preferences
  • Policies and procedures are essential for the organization to ensure compliance with laws and regulations that provide guidance and streamline internal processes
  • Members assist in making decisions that will help the centre continue to provide a healthy and safe family-like environment
  • Members reinforce and clarify the standards expected of employees and assist employers to manage guidelines
  • Childcare centre Directors are responsible for setting the tone for the facility, managing curriculum, overseeing staffing, implementing policies set by the Board, responding to parent inquiries and concerns
